This month is the third installment in the series of articles that have been appearing in the newsletters this year. This series of articles contains tips and ways to cope with difficult people in your association.
ASK FOR HELP. Lets face it, you are all volunteers and the last thing you want is a unit owner being difficult, because it makes your job that much harder. Sometimes including a person who you would normally consider difficult in the solution can go a long way to diffuse the issues involved.
Ask the difficult unit owner for suggestions on how to address the problem. What would they do in your position? You may be surprised by a solution suggested. Have them join a committee to address the problems, giving them a purpose.
Of course sometimes involving the unit owner can backfire; but, in most cases, as neighbors, it’s worth the effort to see if you can work it out.
