Governor Plans To Tackle Workers’ Compensation System

In a recent interview, Ohio Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor says that after the two-year budget process is completed, the Kasich administration will tackle the state's workers' compensation system. Ohio’s workers’ compensation laws are next on the Governor’s list of reforms.

Taylor stated that privatizing the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation would be difficult because of the language in the state constitution.

However, officials are looking at finding ways to allow private insurers to compete in the market.

Taylor is heading an initiative to reform Ohio's regulatory system and eliminate excessive rules that hinder business growth in the state.
