Rebecca M. Black is an Associate Attorney for the firm of Ott & Associates Co., LPA. Rebecca works with community association clients regarding collections, enforcement and other corporate issues, and handles litigation, general real estate and business matters.
Before joining Ott & Associates in December of 2021, Rebecca previously handled a variety of matters at Dan Morell & Associates, including, but not limited to, complex civil litigation matters involving business disputes, consumer protection law violations, and landlord-tenant issues. Prior to that, she worked as a project leader for the Cleveland branch of a high-profile e-discovery matter through The Gnoesis Group. From 2017 until 2019, Rebecca was an Assistant City Prosecutor for the City of Akron, where she prosecuted criminal offenses. Rebecca spent the four years prior representing people accused of felony and misdemeanor criminal charges. During this time she also worked as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) and Guardian Ad Litem representing abused and/or neglected children in Summit County.
Rebecca earned both her Bachelor of Science in Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Ohio University in 2009. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor in 2012 from the University of Akron School of Law.
In 2020 and 2021, Rebecca was recognized as a SuperLawyers Rising Star, which includes a prestigious group of lawyers in Ohio who represent less than 2.5% of the population of young attorneys in the State.
Rebecca is admitted to practice law in Ohio and in the Federal District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.
